Al-Burooj

1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ١
The Clear Quran
By the sky full of constellations,
2
وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ٢
The Clear Quran
and the promised Day ˹of Judgment˺,
3
وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ٣
The Clear Quran
and the witness and what is witnessed!
4
قُتِلَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ٤
The Clear Quran
Condemned are the makers of the ditch—
5
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ٥
The Clear Quran
the fire ˹pit˺, filled with fuel—
6
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ٦
The Clear Quran
when they sat around it,
7
وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ٧
The Clear Quran
watching what they had ˹ordered to be˺ done to the believers,
8
وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ٨
The Clear Quran
who they resented for no reason other than belief in Allah—the Almighty, the Praiseworthy—
9
ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ٩
The Clear Quran
˹the One˺ to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is a Witness over all things.
10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ١٠
The Clear Quran
Those who persecute the believing men and women and then do not repent will certainly suffer the punishment of Hell and the torment of burning.
11
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ١١
The Clear Quran
Surely those who believe and do good will have Gardens under which rivers flow. That is the greatest triumph.
12
إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ١٢
The Clear Quran
Indeed, the ˹crushing˺ grip of your Lord is severe.
13
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ١٣
The Clear Quran
˹For˺ He is certainly the One Who originates and resurrects ˹all˺.
14
وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ١٤
The Clear Quran
And He is the All-Forgiving, All-Loving—
15
ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ١٥
The Clear Quran
Lord of the Throne, the All-Glorious,
16
فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ١٦
The Clear Quran
Doer of whatever He wills.
17
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ١٧
The Clear Quran
Has the story of the ˹destroyed˺ forces reached you ˹O Prophet˺—
18
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ١٨
The Clear Quran
˹the forces of˺ Pharaoh and Thamûd?
19
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِى تَكْذِيبٍ١٩
The Clear Quran
Yet the disbelievers ˹still˺ persist in denial.
20
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطُۢ٢٠
The Clear Quran
But Allah encompasses them from all sides.
21
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌ مَّجِيدٌ٢١
The Clear Quran
In fact, this is a glorious Quran,
22
فِى لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍ٢٢
The Clear Quran
˹recorded˺ in a Preserved Tablet.
